WHEN: Monday November 15, Doors 7PM

Before this year’s mayoral campaign was underway, David Miller wrote, “All too often in Toronto we remember to fight against something, but forget how to build a truly great city.”

He wrote Witness to a City to showcase 18 extraordinary – yet far from unusual – Torontonians who have transformed their own lives as they helped make Toronto a better place.

These 18 Torontonians are role models from whom all of us can learn as we find our own way to contribute to a better Toronto. 5 of them will be included on a Q&A panel with David Miller.

Stephen Diamond, a lawyer and developer, will interview David Miller about a Toronto that harnesses the energies and talents of all its citizens, and we’ll meet and hear about 18 exemplary Torontonians: parents, neighbourhood leaders, an innovative developer, a librarian, a hot dog vendor, a community gardener, and more.

Panelists include:

  • Anne Johnson: former City Councillor
  • Liz Briggs: on staff at Native Child & Family Services
  • William Boyd: former bank manager who found himself homeless after personal crises, eventually benefited from the services of Homeward and has lived in safe, subsidized housing for the past 5 years
  • Laura Reinsborough from Not Far From The Tree
