When: Thursday, September 27, 2007, 7-9 p.m.
Where: The Guild Inn — 191 Guildwood Parkway, Scarborough, ON

If you haven’t been to the Guild Inn yet, here is a good reason to go — apart from the chunks of demolished Toronto buildings scattered around the grounds and its location at the top of the Scarborough Bluffs.

Removable Room is a site-specific migratory art lab, broadcasting station, and virtual gallery. This fall, the Scarborough Arts Council is pleased to bring Removable Room to the historic Guild Inn. Over the course of two days, artists Laura Kavanaugh and Ian Birse will explore and expose the site, photographing images and collecting sounds. The project will culminate in an evening performance on September 27th, including live audio manipulations and video transformations which will be projected onto the greenhouse walls at the site.

  1. Hello!
I’m disappointed that I just found out about Removable Room! It’s about three months after the two day event and it sounded very interesting. I was down In the Guild Inn multiple times through out September.
I am a Hugh fan and absolutely adore the Guild Inn. I grew up around it all my life and have watch the whole place just fade away. I have and am still trying to do something to save this beautiful place. There’s a lot of government red tape and even though sometimes it’s like a waste of time I come across web sites or articles in news papers like this one. That’s my point to why I writing this comment is it nice too see that people still enjoy and visit the Guild Inn. Every time I go down to the Guild I love to see other people’s faces in wonderment at how mystical the place really is and after all that’s why the Guild Inn of all Arts was created! For everyone to enjoy!
This sites great keep up the good work!
