A neat video showing photographs of cities from space with a resolution and quality not seen before. The ability of these rocket scientists to construct a mechanism to cancel out the earth’s orbital movement so the photo does not blur is amazing, though perhaps what one expects from rocket scientists.

If you can’t see it, this is the direct YouTube link.

  1. I’m getting the message that the video is no longer available. Can you fix, please or link to YouTube so I can see it full-screen?

  2. I added the link — but it still works for me (though Rogers internet was acting strange for about 20 minutes).

  3. Great video. Too bad the narrator bored me so badly that I was obliged to close the web page after 3 minutes.

  4. I love how they improvised using spare parts kicking around the space station; I guess it is a long trip to the nearest Radio Shack.

But the closing comment, “Las Vegas, Nevada, our beacon for humanity”, is very disturbing.

  5. Christopher/Matt> Astronauts are good at many things but perhaps they aren’t the best literary writers/narrators.

I thought though perhaps the Las Vegas comment was deadpan humour.
