While the money for infrastructure is welcome and we have large transit needs, it would be good to see a chunk of this money to go to non-transportation capital spend.
As an example, accelerating beefing up our water infrastructure to prevent sinkholes and storm water contamination of our rivers. The City has been doing a lot recently but the backlog is huge with lots of 80-100 year old mains to fix.

It’s interesting that even with gas at such a high price, Suncor were able to charge TTC a premium for the biodiesel. It could be that TTC’s fuel contract is too large for smaller players who derive their fuel from waste rather than crops to compete. The TTC’s report on the proposed ending of BD use was interesting and unless there are experts on the fuel market out there it’s hard to argue with their choice.
