  1. unlike the CBC.ca comment section, i’m cautiously optimistic at the TTC ETA system announcement. i can’t imagine how the TTC could screw it up, considering the system is already developed.

    there’s a demo of grey island’s “nextbus” at http://www.nextbus.com. i chose guelph for the demo. has anyone used the service there? is it accurate? the demo looks useful, though the interface could definitely be streamlined. the web alerts would be very cool.

  2. I’m surprised the TTC is even trying. I fully expected them to resist this as they resisted (but ultimately admirably carried off) the automated stop announcement system.

  3. The TTC will find a way to screw up the ETA system, probably by selling off advertising rights.

    Also, we’ll get the chance to read messages like:

    501 Long Branch 39 minutes
    501 Humber 40 minutes
    501 SHORT TURN 41 minutes
    501 Long Branch 43 minutes

    and just walk for endless kilometers, instead.
