JOB POSTING: Advertising and Sales Director
Spacing is an award-winning magazine (both print and web) and gift store that is seeking a new advertising and sales director. Spacing has a long list of loyal advertisers and partners — we wish to find the best person to continue building on the success of our magazine and retail shop.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, can work independently, and can attract new advertisers to the publication. While a number of Canadian magazines face advertising challenges in this new media environment, Spacing has seen consistent (and growing!) ad revenue over the last five years.
Aside from selling ads for the magazine and web site, the successful candidate will work to bring in corporate clients that use the Spacing Store’s merchandise as gifts and promotional items.
Spacing is willing to work with someone who already sells for other publications and can absorb our magazine into their client list. We’re flexible on how to make this position work for both parties.
COMPENSATION: Commission-based. Happy to discuss during the interview process.
COMMITMENT: This position can be a two- or three-day-a-week position as long as sales goals are met. The position is based in Toronto.
OTHER INFO: The ad sales director will report to Spacing’s publisher, co-ordinate ad sales campaigns with the editor-in-chief, and work closely with the assistant art director on production aspects of advertisements.
