  1. hate to say it, but next time bob puts transit operators on an unnecessary and pointless strike, then they brought any abuse they get from the public on themselves.

  2. Have to hand it to Joe, he’s a laugh a minute sort of guy. I don’t know what is funnier, him thinking he has a chance at being Mayor or the idea that anyone would trust him to control the media. All that can be said is there would need be a lot of media ‘curbing’ for him to stand a chance. Maybe that’s what he was thinking?

Re, Cost over runs at Shelter and St. Clair LRT. I attended Mihevc’s Barns session the other week and pointed out a key problem. I hate to suggest that Toronto needs a new job position but it does. The ‘Office of Construction Co ordination,” would be the overseer and driver of projects like St. Clair where co-ordinatation of the many City Agencies and private utilities that are involved. Right now each ABC has it’s own little kingdom and there are constant turf wars, delays and cost increases because no one is in charge. The Co- ordinator would have the power to rule on disputes and look after the wider City interest. The way it is now each ABC fights for it’s own turf and budget priority and the fact that there is only one taxpayer is lost.

  3. The Pantalone article reads as one long “that’s a nice free press at election time you got there. Shame if anything happened to it” statement. A non-proposal proposal.

If this was some nobody it wouldn’t be worth commenting on, but this is the Deputy Mayor, a possible Mayoral candidate and someone who has attracted substantial and in my view warranted media scrutiny of late.
