It looks like the TTC and its workers are in some tense talks which could lead to another walkout, The Star is reporting.
You can ignore these shenannigans by beccause today is the first day the subway trains the TTC would like to order will be on display at Davisville station. Here’s the rest of the info in a previous Spacing Wire post. You can also read the review of the trains in today’s Star.

Its a pretty good mock-up. For all of the transit buffs, the altered car is 5345.
I liked this “security feature” mentioned in the Star article: “On-board LCD screens that can transmit emergency messages.” Emergency messages like what’s on Citytv tonight and what shampoo will leave my hair shiny and healthy, I’m sure.
On Tuesday, 6 June, I arrived at Davisville Station just before 2:30, giving myself half an hour to see the new train before the 3:00 closing. However, the TTC staff were already closing down the model, citing something like “unexpected system delays” and the need to clear the model out of the way. I am quite disappointed that the TTC doesn’t understand its own operations well enough to successfully allocate space and time for a public event such as this one.
While some of the new cars’ features clearly must be included when the cars are constructed, there are others that I would think could also be retrofit into the older cars, specifically the overhead signboards and other electronic (non-mechanical) improvements.
