April 24, 2012 | Workshop #2: Effective Architectural Programming (register)

Whether you are planning to purchase an existing facility, lease a new space, or develop a site, you will need to have a Functional Program to guide your activities. A Functional (also known as a design brief, facility or architectural program, or a space need analysis) describes the who, what, where, why, when, and how of your space. It includes the purpose and objectives of a space design, site or location requirements and constraints, and building systems and equipment. And hear a fantastic case study on how the “Y” became the Robert Lee YMCA- a centre of community for people of all ages and backgrounds
