Calling all painters, musician, dancers, potters, performers, designers, curators, chefs, poets, artisans, photographers, writers, directors, quilters, singers and other creative people:

You are invited to participate in CULTURE DAYS. Whatever your passion or organizational mission, Culture Days is your chance to cast a spotlight on Vancouver’s art and culture.

Culture Days is the largest-ever collective public participation campaign undertaken by the arts and cultural community in this country. Last year, creative people and organizations in nearly 800 communities registered almost 6000 events. The marketing and media campaign generated an estimated 275 million impressions. As a result, one in three Canadians reported being aware of Culture Days. And that’s after only two years in existence.

Any arts or cultural activity – professional, community, amateur, educational, etc. can be part of Culture Days as long as it meets the basic criteria:

  • free to the public;
  • happens September 28, 29 and/or 30, 2012;
  • involves audience participation or reveals a behind-the-scenes aspect to give the public a better understanding of the inner world of arts and culture; and
  • is registered (for free) at culturedays.ca which will be promoted through national regional campaigns for the public to find out about your activity.

Register by midnight ET on Friday, August 13, 2012 and your activity could be featured in a Culture Days Special Feature Insert in The Globe and Mail during the lead up to the big weekend in September.

Visit culturedays.ca or contact your Culture Days Task Force for more information at bcprogramming@culturedays.ca.
