The Texas Tech University System is accepting proposals for artists to create exterior designs for art to ornament a large brick wall on the Exercise Sports Sciences building and adjacent to the Art 3-D Annex in Lubbock, TX. The artists are invited to propose an outdoor artwork that will consist of two components: a (more or less) 2-D piece that “wraps” the southwest corner of the exterior of the Exercise Sports Sciences multipurpose building with portable hoops, and a peripheral, but visually-related element in the seating area outside the Art 3-D Annex next door The public art budget is $90,000 and should be all inclusive.

Proposals must be received (not postmarked) by December 18, 2012 at 10:30 am. Finalists will receive an honorarium of up to $1500 for travel and design expenses.
