International Call for Artists – SkySong Temporary Public Art Project, Scottsdale Public Art

Budget: Approximately $150,000 USD
Deadline: January 9, 2013 – Midnight MST

Scottsdale Public Art is accepting qualifications from artists for a temporary public art opportunity. The selected artist(s) will create a temporary art project using the iconic shade structure of SkySong both as inspiration and as a setting.

The temporary project must utilize and enhance the technology currently used to program lighting for the shade structure, activate the space below the shade structure and put in place permanent infrastructure for future installations. Artists working in the fields of time-based sculpture, performance, light, digital, projection, and event-based work are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have demonstrated experience in producing public art events or installations.
