Mission council officially adopted the Downtown Action Plan and approved certain parking changes. The Downtown Action Plan outlines five fundamentals and 10 big moves to improve and revitalize the area.

A new William Griffin centre is one big, bold step closer to reality after the District of North Vancouver revealed its designs for the new community rec centre.

After three years and over $200,000 in direct costs, Parksville council passed their new official community plan. The new plan will replace the current 2001 version which some, including mayor Chris Burger, have been pushing to update for many years.

Now the downtown revitalization is part of Penticton’s official community plan, the city is setting to work implementing the first of a number of improvement projects planned for the coming years.

Burnaby city hall has a new director of engineering almost a year after his predecessor left the post for a promotion. Leon Gous comes to Burnaby from South Africa via the City of Vernon, B.C. where he served as the general manager of community services, which included engineering, and then from 2005 to 2011 as its chief administrative officer.
