This weekend, on May 3rd and 4th, the Vancouver Public Space Network is presenting a preview of Active Fiction — a project at the intersection of public space and fiction — as part of the worldwide Jane’s Walk event.

Have you ever wondered what it might be like to walk through your favourite novel? We’ve assembled a team of local authors to create short works of fiction that take place in the Riley Park area.

Come out to the VPSN’s Active Fiction Jane’s Walk and amble your way through some of these (very, very) short stories. You’ll be able to literally choose your own adventure in this self-guided walking tour of the neighbourhood!

Location & Details

Meet up at Main St & East 20th Ave.

We will be there on both Saturday May 3 and Sunday May 4, anytime between 11am – 2pm.

We’ll remain at this meeting point to provide a gathering spot so walkers can meet & chat about your experience after the walk. In case of rain, we’ll be inside the Bean Around the World cafe.

This is a preview of the full-scale version of this project the Vancouver Public Space Network will launch later this summer. Come and be part of this unique neighborhood celebration at the intersection of fiction and public space!
