Curators of the uncelebrated and diverse community, Interesting Vancouver gathers nine Vancouverites together on November 10th for a night of connection, engagement, and laughter. The annual event, already in its ninth year, continues to bring new and old friends together to listen to heartfelt or adventurous stories, inspiring the community to take a step into their very own unknown and see what comes of it because it might be interesting. As each year is a different experience, the event always sells out quickly.
“It’s a night that celebrates the uncelebrated, bringing together a community that is so unique in their own ways. We’re so proud of what Interesting Vancouver has become over these past nine years.” –Mark Busse & Brett MacFarlane, Interesting Vancouver
Starting in fall 2016, Interesting Vancouver also welcomes Khelsilem, an indigenous educator and community leader from the Squamish Peoples and IV14 alumni, as an advisor to assist IV in its goal to support the indigenous voice within our community.
“For a long time, indigenous voices from Vancouver were hushed but things are changing because we’re creating the change. We want to give those voices from Vancouver’s deepest roots a chance to emerge and tell their stories.” –Khelsilem, indigenous educator and Squamish Peoples’ community leader.
