Presenters:

Stephen Godwin (Environment Manager, City of Surrey) will share experiences and perspectives working within local government with species at risk protection including the adoption of new sensitive ecosystem and streamside protection bylaws in Surrey.  One of the key issues Surrey is grappling with is addressing critical habitat protection for species like Pacific Water Shrew.

Scott Barrett (Director, Resource Management, Ministry of Forests, Lands & Natural Resource Operations) will detail a new web-mapping tool that clarifies and communicates BC’s stewardship objectives for a number of priority environmental values.

Who should participate:
Land use decision makers and professional practitioners, conservation organizations, developers, and municipal/regional district staff involved in land use planning, urban development policy and permitting, and/or conservation planning.

SCCP Webinar Series:

Please refer to Species at Risk – In Context for the first webinar in the SEAR series.

The next webinar will occur in February, 2017.  Stay tuned!
