Exploring Neighbourhood Energy Futures
Saturday June 9th
9:30am -2:30pm
Aboriginal Friendship Centre – 1607 East Hastings, at Commercial
City of Vancouver residents are invited to attend “energy futures” workshops. The workshops have been developed by a team of researchers at the Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS) at UBC, working with Community Planning at the City of Vancouver. Participants will explore how we can plan for a more resilient energy future at the neighbourhood scale, and design a low-carbon neighbourhood by choosing from a range of strategies including integrated land use and redevelopment, transportation alternatives, technology changes, and behavioural/cultural shifts.
The May 26th workshop was a great success. The June 9th workshop is sure to follow suit. It’s being held at the Aboriginal Friendship Centre in Grandview-Woodland. All Vancouver residents are welcome.
