Cool Dark Summer
SEAN ORR
A cool, dark grey cap of clouds in July
makes the light fight even harder for
a spot between the maple and cobble
The resulting pressure – a wind
Brisk, banking off buildings where street plans clash
Rustling patio umbrellas in the hazy dusk
Updrafts up your spine
And the drinks you are drinking
And the people there
And so it is an event occurring
An event, that is, timeless, yet ultimately
of time
A moment, if it were
possible.

Sean Orr is the writer of Tea and Two Slices on Scout Magazine (formerly Morning Brew on Beyond Robson), musician under the name Tassels, and self-taught street-photographer with nearly 10, 000 works on Flickr. I also have a ridiculous tumblr called Don’t Dad that the kids all seem to enjoy. My Twitter account is just sort of okay. I ran in the 2006 Provincial Election as a Green Party candidate.
