It’s time again for the Vancouver Urbanists Meetup. This month, the definition of Vancouver has expanded to include the metro area, specifically New Westminster. There is a lot of interesting urban development occurring in New West (as well as a lot of great urbanists!), that those of us living in Vancouver don’t often get a chance to see. Well here’s your opportunity!
We’ll be gathering at the Terminal Pub in New West on September 9th from 3-5pm. The Terminal Pub came into the world in 1940, as the Terminal Hotel, to create a social place for workers who spent their nine-to-five earning a living in the many industries in the area. The pub recently underwent a renovation to revive its legacy and refocus on being a neighbourhood pub.
Come out and enjoy a beer or bite to eat with your fellow urbanists. Topics of discussion may include New West’s urban revitalization, what you’ve been up to over the summer, or upcoming events that you are excited about.
The Terminal Pub is located at 115 12th Street in New Westminster (map). It’s a short walk away from the Skytrain.
As always, feel free to drop in when you can and stay as long as you want. We’ll be there from 3 pm until at least 5 pm.
