Construction is heating up to complete the 9.3 kilometre bike/pedestrian loop around Victoria airport. The paved path will be separated for safety of users along the entire route, and by the end of next year will connect with both Sidney and the regional Lochside trail once complete.

Suggestions that Langley Township wants to split from Metro Vancouver and form their own regional district is causing a little bit of a stir.

Some Metro Vancouver mayors are playing the conservative card and seeing what will happen with regards to Kinder Morgan’s plan to twin its Trans Mountain oil pipeline through the Lower Mainland. Unlike the mayors of Vancouver and Burnaby who are explicitly oppose the project, those further inland along the pipeline corridor want more information before taking a position.

Translink’s is quickly trying to address the problem that its ticket vending machines don’t seem to accept the new lighter weight loonies and toonies just issued by the Royal Canadian Mint.
