One of 35 proposed concepts for the Re-imagination project. This one takes advantage of the building's exhaust ventilation for a warming platform.

WHERE: former Rutherford Bookstore in Enterprise Square (10230 Jasper Avenue)
WHEN:  April 10, 5:30PM for the announcement of the winners

Students from the University of Alberta’s planning program, in collaboration with the City of Edmonton’s Urban Design Unit, have been tasked with providing simple place-making solutions that highlight the opportunities and possibilities that exist in Edmonton’s Downtown. Early in February, designers with backgrounds in urban design, architecture or planning were invited to create hand-drawn illustrations to propose their ideas for 12 sites around the downtown core. Over 35 urban interventions have been submitted to capture enough attention so that at least one of the proposed concepts will become a reality.

There will be a public event on April 10, 2015 where all the drawings will be displayed and three winners chosen by a jury panel and the people’s choice award will be announced.

Please visit the student group’s official site www.reimagine-yeg.ca to see all the submissions and vote for your favourite designs!
