Canadian Urbanism Uncovered

  1. Yes, that made me gloriously happy when I spotted it a few weeks ago.

  2. This must be one of the very few graffiti in Montreal that actually says something and it’s not just somebody’s signature or plain defacing. That kind of graffiti (except that with deeper comments and usually relevant political statements) are very common in Latin America, specially in those countries that have had a rich (I couldn’t find a better word, and I don’t mean good) political history. I usually do not support graffiti, and I don’t support anarchy or communism because I haven’t yet found any definition of those terms that doesn’t have hundreds of contradictions, but I am glad to see a message in this picture, and not just a bunch of ugly tags that have no intention but selfish self promotion.

  3. There seems to be a lot of graffiti in the similar vein around my neighbourhood which looks to have all been done by the same person. “La Vie est plat!”, “Poste Moderne”, “Tuez la Police”, etc.

  4. You should go back there…
    Something interesting is happening…
