Montreal’s Heavenly City Never got Built

This imposing design, proposed for Montreal’s Windsor terminal in 1928, was – rather pompously – entitled “Heavenly City”. The 40-storey building would have housed 34 railway tracks. Then the Depression struck and the city decided to make do with the old 1889 building, which is still standing today.
