  1. Completed about 1931, this is the Trafalgar Apartments at 3980 Cote des Neiges Road.

    In 2002 both buildings had faced demolition by the city and were to be replaced by a ten-story tower (likely overpriced condos) but the Quebec government blocked the plan and designated them a historic site. Too many of Montreal’s mayors and “planning departments” have been over-eager in razing historic buildings as well as renaming streets in a attempt to deny history. Let us hope this comes to an end once and for all.
