A belated Toronto Tuesday…

Walk21 Toronto Community Conference : “To enable any Torontonian with an interest in walking to experience some of the insights of the conference, the City of Toronto, in partnership with TCAT and Spacing, has organized a “Walk21 Toronto Community Conference.” Local experts who presented at the Walk21 conference are going to present their material again to the public, for free, at an open conference at Metro Hall on March 1.”

Plowed Bike Lanes Vital to Winter Biking : Tammy Thorne writes on the city’s invitation for winter biking and the ongoing stuggle to keep bike lanes free of snow. The competition is part of a massive undertaking by the City of revisiting the design of its waterfront. Compare that to the dismal Notre-Dame “boulevard urbain” plan for Montréal…

POLL: should City Council adopt a political party system? : An interesting poll from Spacing Toronto looks at whether the city should switch to a political party system. Spacing readers from both cities should exchange notes as Montréal already functions on such a system. For better or worse?
