A fine arts student in Poznan, Poland has created a wonderful public art installation that I have wanted to do for years, but had no idea where to start. Thankfully, Kasia Kesicka has done it and done it very well. The project entails using billboards to display the objects (buildings, trees, etc.) that the advertising infrastructure is blocking. Kesicka chose both dilapidated and commercial areas to display her work. I wonder if Viacom or Pattison would allow an artist or group to do something like this in Toronto? Or it is possible for it to be done with guerrilla art tactics?
