  1. How come I am not surprised that Montreal and Quebec City are huge net gainers in the income tax transfers (I don’t even want to know what it is like with the GST), whereas Toronto is the second worst after Calgary. I love the fact that I am paying for services in Montreal and Quebec City while Toronto is crumbling. It makes me feel grand and noble…

  2. What if Ontario was to have its own federal political party based in Toronto to rival the Liberals and Conservatives just as the Bloc does? That way, whoever’s in power in the federal government will HAVE to pay more attention to our needs in order to buy our votes. Isn’t this why Quebec gets more gov’t funding than anyone else?

  3. Besides, Montreal has overpasses that everyone ought to be jealous of. And the roads are marvelous.

  4. I don’t give a flying f… about Montreal’s roads and overpasses, I still don’t think it is fair that a huge bite of my taxes don’t stay in my community. Why should I work more so that people in Montreal can enjoy the day sitting in esplanades while their overpasses fall? We should fix our stuff first before sending money to a bunch of ungrateful people who hate us and have always assumed to be above Toronto.
