[murmur] is celebrating our 5th birthday this Thursday evening. Please stop by if you can at some point in the evening. The Facebook event is here — RSVP if you want or share the invite with your people.

Don’t they grow up fast? It doesn’t seem like it was five years ago that we put up the first [murmur] signs in Kensington Market.

But since then somehow we’ve put up about 250 signs in 8 cities in 5 countries. And collected something like 600 stories. With dozens of partners, and um, a lot of volunteers. Ever-humble, we say: Wow!

So, we’re throwing a birthday party for our little project. If you can make it, we’d love to see you. Doubly so if you’ve participated as a story collector or story contributor — it’d be nice to thank you in person.

The party will be on July 17th — that’s a Thursday — at the Canadian Corps hall at 201 Niagara, just south of King. If you haven’t been before, the hall will remind you of family reunions that you had, or that you imagined that you might’ve had if your family was from southern Ontario.

You won’t need to spend any money (no gifts please), unless you’d like to buy a drink, which will be cheap. And why not? Let’s raise a glass to celebrate this moment, and one five years ago.
