World Town Planning Day

There’s a World Town Planning Day! Who knew? I didn’t, although perhaps some of our readers had heard of it. And it’s happening this week, on Saturday November 8. The Ontario Professional Planners Institute likes to use this day to help get the wider community interested in planning. This year, the Toronto branch has organized:

a 2 hour walking tour of Old Town Toronto, which will be led by former Mayor David Crombie and former Chief Planner Paul Bedford. The walking tour will include visits to the St. Lawrence Market area and the Distillery District, and will begin at 10 a.m., rain or shine, by the clock tower at Union Station. The tour is free.
