Spacing is pleased to pass some good news onto our readers: we were nominated for three National Magazine Awards today! Our fifth anniversary issue is up for Best Single Issue, and Miles Storey‘s images from “Faces and Places” in the summer-fall 2008 issue is up for Best Portrait Photography (shown below, click to see larger). And most excitedly, Spacing is one of three finalists for Magazine of the Year (the other nominees are Canadian Business and Alberta Views).
Congratulations to the other nominees. Winners are announced June 5th.

Spacing is a wonderful magazine and your nomination is richly deserved. Kudos to the awards committee for recognizing a few small Canadian gems.
Though obviously we’d prefer to win the much-coveted award ourselves, we’re big admirers of Spacing around here.

Congratulations! You deserve it! I agree with the suggestion above about making it available online – it would reach a wider audience.
If a revenue model presents itself, we’d think about going online. If spacing went completely online now, there would be no spacing. The print mag subsidizes this, which is mostly volunteer effort as is.
Print (physical) magazines are nice, though.
