Canadian Urbanism Uncovered

  1. There is an important article on the Windsor strike in the Star today. Turns out that their temporary dumps were cleaned up every night by outside contractors hired by the City. Windsor Mayor is quoted saying, “you can’t have garbage pilling up in residential areas.”
There goes whatever credibility Miller had left. It seems clear that the strike is a shame with the intention of Miller being to let the garbage pile up a rot until there is a health emergency, back to work legislation an arbitrated settlement for CUPE.
Cristie pits could be cleaned out tomorrow if the Mayor filed for an injunction.
