Ninety years to the day, relive the opening of this rare surviving theatre of the Allen family theatre chain — a “super-suburban, photo-play palace” on the Danforth. After a brief commemorative Heritage Toronto plaque ceremony, enjoy the rarely seen silent film, “Dollars and Sense,” featuring Madge Kennedy, the star of the theatre’s 1919 opening night film, with live piano accompaniment.

  1. I used to live on Marlborough Avenue in the 60s and 70s. There was a very good restaurant just west of Yonge St. on the south side. Can anyone remember the name of the restaurant? It’s driving me crazy.
