Canadian Urbanism Uncovered

  1. Its too bad that the Star bought into Metrolinx’s PR campaign. The MOH has revised its position and thats comforting but the bottom line is that the MOH is still calling for immediate electrification, still says there are risk factors, and still the “mitigation” is unknown. I would add that “mitigation” is a loose term that can mean we take pollution from one area and dump it in another which is basically what the Metrolinx plan does. It doesn’t reduce pollution it just moves it.”Mitigation” and “monitoring” sounds good but by that time its too late. Unless the line is electric or physical lanes of highway are removed the reduction in cars on the road or pollution is imaginary.
