Marketing and editorial internships available at Spacing

We are currently conducting interviews for two internship positions (unpaid) at Spacing.

Editorial intern

Responsibilities for editorial inters include: developing, pitching, and writing their own pieces for our blog; writing assigned weekly/regular blog features; and assigned content for our next print issue. Applicants should have a passion for cities and engagement with the issues at the core of our editorial mandate.

This is a two day/week, in-office internship available immediately. Applications should be in the form of a resume, pertinent writing samples, and, most importantly, a letter describing why you would be a good fit for Spacing. Please send applications directly to mikebulko@spacing.ca

Marketing intern

This is a new position being offered for the first time. We are looking for a marketing student, or someone with similar experience to work with our sales and subscriptions manager.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Developing merchandising strategies for our release parties, other events, and retail spaces.
  • Establishing connections with local retailers and artists.
  • Working with our ad sales team to plan creative contests with interesting prizes.
  • Help to process/send orders through our online store.
  • Organize social media promotions.
  • Source out manufacturers and help develope/design new merchandise.
  • Organize and staff our merch table at events and seek out new events for Spacing to join with.

We are looking for someone who can work out of the office with us one or two days a week and is able to travel around the city for specific projects as well. Applicants should submit a resume and cover letter, as well as a note indicating their availability to mikebulko@spacing.ca.

    We will begin looking for summer interns throughout April, but you can send in your application early and we will keep it on file. We usually go through the applications we already received before we advertise availability.
