Instaflaneur: on and off the grid in Toronto + Torontohenge

Read more articles by

The Toronto street grid lines up perfectly with either the setting or rising sun four time a year. Perfect alignment happens again this Thursday, but already cloud-free sunsets are quite brilliant, with a golden bowling ball at the end of our west-heading avenues, like Wellesley at Yonge here, snapped last Wednesday. I wrote about our grid, and our streets that break out of it (and more details on Torontohenge) in my Toronto Star column on Friday.

  1. Great picture. Like this better than the one published in Toronto Star.
