A new exhibit at the Toronto Archives opens tomorrow called “An Infectious Idea: 125 Years of Public Health in Toronto“. If you haven’t had occasion to use the Archives for research purposes yet, you should stop by anyway and see the detailed and extensive exhibits they run in the building’s central atrium. Definitely one of the hidden gems in Toronto — and free.
The Archives’ is celebrating the 125th anniversary of Toronto Public Health with its new exhibit, An Infectious Idea: 125 Years of Public Health in Toronto.
This exhibit presents a selection of archival photographs and documents from 1883 to the present, exploring themes such as health services for children, the struggle for clean water and air and the development of public housing and social services.
An Infectious Idea opens October 30 (reception from 5:30 onwards) and will run throughout 2009.
The Archives is open on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. We continue to be open Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
