Pedestrian Sundays in Kensington

Read more articles by

Based on extensive community consultation in the fall of 2005, the Kensington community again supports Pedestrian Sundays in 2006. This year, the neighbourhood will be turned into a pedestrian zone on the last Sunday of the month (May to October) starting Sunday May 28th from 1-7pm.

You can find out more at the P.S. Kensington web site or you can volunteer to help run the event by emailing the organizers.

If all works out, Spacing will have a table on Augusta Ave. selling our buttons and copies of the magazine. Come look for us.

  1. Kensington should be a pedestrian market every day of the week, all year. Cars have no place there. In fact, I don’t know why anyone would even want to drive through Kensignton market. Toronto should seriously consider disallowing vehicles from 1-7 every day (except delivery vehicles).

  2. Will you be at the market the whole car-free afternoon (1-7?) on Sunday? I have been meaning to pick up the latest issue, but haven’t been near one yet, and it would be super if I could combine magazine-buying with a trip to the market.

Fyi each PsK. this year has a theme. For May 28 it’s spring.

Streets are closed off by noon/1pm and north Augusta will remain closed until 10pm.

Here’s the info so far about May 28’s tentative schedule for the north Augusta (Ave.) venue:
