Jane’s Walk is a celebration of people and cities taking place all around the world on the first weekend of May, to coincide with Jane Jacobs’ birthday. Through the simple act of walking together and discussing what makes a neighbourhood, Jane’s Walk helps knit people together into strong and resourceful communities.
In 2012 we had walks in 85 cities and 17 countries around the world. Thanks to all who participated for lending your incredible voices to the conversation. In 2013, we are continuing to expand and diversify our walks. Consider this the official Open Call for Walk Leaders!
If you’ve been thinking about leading a walk, now is the time. What better way to celebrate the tapestry of the urban experience than to help others discover new things about their city?
To get started, send us a note at info@janeswalk.net. We will help you think through the places and people that will make your story great, so tell us what interests you and we will help find your audience!
Remember, walks are not necessarily led by experts, but by people who want to share what matters to them.
