HALIFAX – Over the last three years, HCC has made a significant contribution by lending a unique voice to the city’s active transportation discussions and encouraging all-season bicycle use in the greater Halifax region. Though the organization has a wide base of support, this is your chance to get further involved with the organization as it attempts to build a broader coalition.

The Annual General Meeting will include a quick presentation on activities and projects concluded over the past year. Working groups will be formed at the meeting surrounding various topics of interest (communications, membership, social media, etc.), so if you ever wanted to get more involved with HCC, get to it! Oh, there will also be elections for a new Board of Directors.

Now, where did I put that bike helmet?

The Halifax Cycling Coalition is an organization of concerned citizens dedicated to improving cycling conditions and raising awareness of cycling issues in the Halifax Regional Municipality. The HCC believes that increased bicycle use has the potential to: Reduce traffic congestion; Reduce HRM infrastructure spending; Improve our health; Enhance our urban environment. We want to change the circumstances that discourage bicycle use: inadequate cycling facilities, and lack of education for both cyclists and motorists.
