The School of Community and Regional Planning at UBC is excited to announce their upcoming 8th Annual Symposium, taking place on Friday, February 26th, 2016. They invite professionals, academics and students to join us for a full day of discussion on planning issues.
Planning strives to be a profession of generation(s); we hope to work across generations, to pass knowledge from one generation to another, and to plan for future generations.
But where, and for whom, has this failed? How might we generate new ideas for a better future?
The 8th Annual SCARP Symposium will explore the interactions between planning and generation(s) as a platform for examining the past, present, and future of planning.
Keynote Speakers:
- Gil Penalosa: Founder & Chair of the Board, 8-80 Cities, Toronto, ON
- Majora Carter: Urban Revitalization Strategist & Social-Enterprise Pioneer, New York, NY
