Vancouver’s first parklet was installed on E 14th Ave at Main Street in September, 2011. Unfortunately, it was struck by a driver overnight at the end of 2016 and damaged beyond repair. Its 2017 replacement was the first of a new generation of modular parklets (and curbside patios), and provided an opportunity to re-envision the space as a neighbourhood hub and meeting place.

The space is a City of Vancouver partnership with the Mount Pleasant BIA and Vancouver Mural Festival, evolving from the City’s first parklet, through its modular replacement, into the newest pavement-to-plaza project.
