Virtual Talk – Day of Audio Visual Heritage

Date: Oct, 27th at 5pm
Admission: Sign up for free via Eventbrite

The United Nations commemorated this day in 2005, in order to “raise general awareness of the need to preserve and safeguard important audiovisual material for future generations, and for urgent measures to be taken to conserve this heritage and ensure it remains accessible to the public now, and to future generations.”

Semiahmoo Arts is delighted to have highly knowledgeable guest speakers who will elaborate on the meaning of cultural heritage, the importance of the preservation of both – tangible and intangible heritage, and how we can ensure that we convey history through heritage in an inclusive and embracing manner.

Our Speakers are:

  • Chief Harley Chappell – Chief of Semiahmoo First Nations
  • Leticia Sanchez – President Asian Heritage Month Society
  • Bill Yuen – Executive Director Heritage Vancouver Society
  • Hugh Ellenwood – Archivist at Museums and Archives of White Rock

We invite you to view our live-streamed talk on SAS YouTube Channel and participate in the Q & A section.
