Here’s a impressionistic and nostalgic look at Montreal’s Expo 67. The 8.5 minute wordless film – directed by William Brind – shows the expo as an exercise in wonderful urban naiveté and optimism.
From the film’s description:
This film served as an invitation to the World’s Fair that was held in Montreal in 1967. It was largely considered to be the most successful World’s Fair of the 20th century with over 50 million visitors. The film presents impressions of the event and of Montreal at its liveliest and most exciting moment in history.

I remember every inch. My dad was hired to write occasional buletins from the site for I think The Tamarack Review. It’s great to have spent at least part of a lifetime livng in a city that felt like it was poised on the edge of the future, and the future was looking good.
