Each Monday, we bring you some of the popular posts from our sister blog, Spacing Montreal. We’ll keep an eye open for topics and discussions that are pertinent to current public space issues in Toronto.

• This week, Bronwyn Chester’s Tree Tuesday features Quebec’s national tree: the yellow birch. Although normally considered a forest tree that tends to grow further north, yellow birches can be found growing on the McGill campus and on the east side of Mount Royal [ translated into english ]

“Bixi love”: the act of finding love through Bixi.  Whether Montrealers are falling in love with Bixi or Bixi is helping Montrealers fall in love, Emile Thomas’ Love + Bixi captures the mood.

• Guillaume St-Jean’s Then-and-Now photos found scattered among Spacing Montreal many posts are capturing the transformation of Montreal’s many historic buildings.  From the new public exteriors of buildings and refurbished interiors of churchs [ 1, 2, 3 ] to the more private renovations of century-old maisons [ 1, 2, 3 ], Guillaume’s shots provide a fantastic peak into the ongoing evolution of Montreal’s built environment.
