What are Feeds?

News feeds, also known as RSS, allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest blog headlines delivered to you as soon as its published without having to visit the website. Typically news feeds are subscribed to using an RSS reader such as NetNewsWire (OSX), BlogLines (Windows), Google Reader (online) or a smartphone-specific news app.

Once you’ve selected a news reader you can subscribe to feeds from your favourite sites and news outlets and have the news delivered right to you.

The RSS icon (RSS) is typically used to indicate that a site offers a news feed, pasting the URL into your reader is all that it takes to subscribe.
