Chances are if you are wearing a bike helmet it’s already more about safety, and far less about fashion, which is why you might just want to try out this crazy looking brain protector.
The Paper Pulp Helmet isn’t pretty but it certainly is functional. The environmentally friendly lid is made out of recycled newspaper. It was designed by a group of London artists with bike share programs in mind and could be sold in vending machines or stores for less than a couple bucks. It is resistant to rainwater for up to six hours.
The creators – Tom Gottelier, Bobby Petersen and Ed Thomas, are graduates of the London’s Royal College of Art.
