Island airport debate

The debate for federal candidates held on the waterfront last night showed the animosity towards an Island airport is very much a hot local issue. Nealry 500 people showed up (who says the electorate is apathetic?) to hear what Tony Ianno and Olivia Chow had to say (the other parties, with all due respect, are not really part of the Trinity-Spadina race). Ianno said he’d support shutting down the airport if that’s what residents and voter wanted (obivously he hasn’t been listening too hard because that feeling has been made clear with every hoarse voice from the Toronto Islands).
