What do YOU do on the beach?

On Saturday, June 8, the Toronto Waterfront Revitilization Corporation wants to know what citizens want to do at Lake Ontario Park, the new park planned for the area surrounding Cherry Beach. Free chartered TTC Shuttle buses will be leaving Union Station at 5:30 and 6:00 pm and the consultation will last from 6:30 to 8:30. Let’s hope none of the suggestions include anything like the Cherry Beach Express.

The official release can be found here (PDF format).

  1. Do we really need such a large park when Tommy Thompson Park is right there?

I’d rather see this be more of a mixed use area with housing and parkland.

  2. My frineds and I have had some fabulous parties off Cherry beach – DJ’s, projection screens – guess that’ll all be over.
There was a plan I saw a couple years ago that included townhomes and condos, but done on low scale (like Sydney) – respecting the nature of the area – anyone know what happened to that?
