Today marks the 3rd anniversary of activist Tooker Gomberg’s death. To commemorate his life there will be a full moon Take the Tooker group ride leaving at 10 p.m. from Bloor and St. George streets tonight.

Meet up earlier to participate in a ritual to honour Tooker’s passing, tale-telling to celebrate his life, as well as a special screening of the 2006 documentary Big Bucks, Big Pharma: Marketing Disease and Pushing Drugs.

Moon gazing is also on the agenda as there is a rare full moon lunar eclipse tonight.

  1. agggh damn! i really wish i could have known about this sooner. why is it that so many events are posted about here the day of their happening? it’s so frustrating to read about something that you would have bent over backwards to attend only to find out that it just finished happening a few hours ago.

  2. Thanks for the post/plug, and perhaps Jonna could visit the takethetooker.ca site and sign-up for the direct tttooker emails, not that I know too much about how they work. Thanks for being there in spirit though.

    It wasn’t too big a ride, though some car drivers did get upset. I’m personally a bit conflicted about how getting someone angry makes them open their mind to the “cause” – in this case Bloor bike lanes right beside the subway. Who’s your councillor Jonna?

    The Choco Sol on west side of Bathurst south of Bloor near the Annex Animal clinic has good potential.
