  1. Please don’t link to the Globe and Mail if those links are little more than solicitations for subscriptions.

  2. Those yellow ribbons are very much against the city’s message and example of peace.

I think there is a Rage Against the Machine song that addresses this issue quite well.

  3. The online discussion thread at the Globe following the ribbon article has made me seriously reevaluate my impression of their readership. I thought all the mouthbreathers read the Sun, but apparently they’ve branched out.

there are several poems by Kipling which address it well too. I direct you to “Tommy” or “The Last of the Light Brigade”, for instance.

David Miller, the man who leads the city that supports the Canadian Forces – on a non-renewable one year term. No-one’s asking him to support Paul Martin and Stephen Harper – the first sent them there, the second keeps them there.

  5. Apparently the decals, via a unanimous vote, are to be kept – can anyone confirm something I read elsewhere that Davis and McConnell were absent but entered the chamber immediately after the vote?

  6. Blarg, I’ve learned not to read Globe and Mail comment threads on anything remotely controversial (health care, the United States, etc.), or when they pass about 20 entries. It only leads to rage and screaming. (Mine.)
